Pokemon GO is set to host the “Scattered to the Winds” event from Tuesday, February 18, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This event offers various in-game bonuses, new updates to Lucky Trading, and gives players the opportunity to knock out their backlog of gifts!

Event Bonuses
Throughout the event, trainers can take advantage of the following perks:
- 2x XP for spinning PokeStops.
- 5x XP for spinning a PokeStop for the first time.
- The ability to open up to 40 Gifts per day.
- For those who have purchased the Eggs-pedition Access: February ticket, the limit increases to 60 Gifts per day.
- An increased chance to encounter Shiny Pidgey.
Shiny Debut
Shiny Scatterbug, Spewpa, and Vivillon are making their debut in Pokemon GO. Pinning postcards from Trainers earns encounters with Scatterbug, and you’ll have an increased chance of finding its Shiny form as well.

The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild, with an increased chance of encountering Shiny Pidgey:
Field Research
Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available, offering Rare Candy and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
Paid Timed Research
Additionally, for US$5.00, players can access event-exclusive Timed Research, which includes the following rewards:
- 16,500 Stardust
- Three Rare Candies
- Event-themed avatar pose
- Event-themed Pokemon encounters
- And more (tbd)

Lucky Trade Update
Starting Tuesday, February 18, 2025, a permanent update to Lucky Trades will take effect. Players will now be able to receive up to 35 guaranteed Lucky Pokemon through trades, an increase from the previous limit of 25.
Additionally, any Pokemon stored in a player’s Pokemon Storage since 2019 will be guaranteed to become a Lucky Pokemon when traded, up to the new limit.

- Spin as many PokeStops as possible to maximize the XP bonuses, especially for first-time spins.
- Open and send Gifts regularly to manage your inventory and make the most of the increased daily limit.
- Plan in-person Lucky Trades with friends to take advantage of the increased cap and secure more guaranteed Lucky Pokemon.
